REVITA LIFT & GLOW MICROCURRENT THERAPY FACIAL: 48-Hour Aftercare Tips image

The most important rule after your REVITA LIFT & GLOW MICROCURRENT THERAPY FACIAL is simple: keep heat and heavy sweat off your skin for the first 24 to 48 hours. This facial includes microcurrent “facial toning, ” a customized peel, light extractions, and finishes with an 87% Vitamin C mask plus red LED, so your skin does best with calm, gentle care right afterward. If you’re heading back out around Emeryville Bay Street and the Shellmound district, this guide keeps things easy and clear.

Your first 24 to 48 hours: protect the lift, keep irritation down

Microcurrent facial treatment results tend to look best when the skin stays cool, hydrated, and unbothered for a couple of days. I know you’re busy. A lot of my clients are commuters hopping on the Emery Go-Round, coming in from MacArthur BART, or squeezing this in before heading back toward Oakland or Berkeley. So here’s the no-guesswork version.

For 24 to 48 hours, avoid: hot yoga, sauna/steam room, hot tubs, long hot showers aimed at your face, and anything that leaves you drenched in sweat. Heat and sweat are the two fastest ways to invite extra redness and make your skin feel reactive after a professional microcurrent facial.

Cleansing the day of your appointment

I generally recommend waiting until that evening to cleanse, and keeping it gentle. Think lukewarm water and a mild, non-scrubby cleanser. No cleansing brushes. No gritty exfoliating powders. Pat dry instead of rubbing.

Hydrate, then leave it alone

Hydration is your best friend after this facial, especially if you run dry. A simple routine works well: hydrating serum (no sting), moisturizer, and SPF if you’re stepping outside. You’ll often notice your skin looks more toned and “awake” when you don’t overdo it with actives right away.

Makeup timing

Light makeup is usually fine after about 1 to 2 hours, once any warmth or redness has settled. If you want the cleanest, brightest finish, give your skin the rest of the day makeup-free. If you do apply makeup, go with gentle, non-irritating formulas and clean brushes or sponges.

Days 3 to 7: keep the glow, skip the “let’s try everything” phase

By day three, most people feel back to normal. But this is the week when over-exfoliating and extra sun exposure can quietly undo the comfort and brightness you just paid for. If you’re out in Emeryville near the waterfront, the East Bay’s mild weather can trick you. It can feel cool and still be sunny enough to darken post-treatment sensitivity. SPF matters even in October.

My week-one rules: don’t pick at any flaking, don’t do at-home peels, and don’t stack strong products “just because your skin looks good.” Keep your hands off your face as much as possible, especially around extraction areas.

Retinoids and acids: pause 48 to 72 hours

After a customized peel, I generally want you to pause retinol and strong exfoliating acids for 48 to 72 hours. If you’re sensitive, lean toward the longer end. When you restart, go slow. One active at a time, every other night, and watch for any stinging or tightness.

Hold off on aggressive treatments for one week

Skip other strong facial treatments for at least a week, including deeper peels and microneedling. If you’re planning anything like that, talk to me first so we can space things safely and keep your skin looking lifted and firm.

The simple routine that protects a professional microcurrent facial

If you want your pure lift microcurrent results to show up clearly, keep your routine boring for a few days. Boring is good. It lets the facial do its job. A lot of long-time clients tell me their best changes come from consistency, not from chasing a new product every week.

AM: cleanse, hydrate, SPF

  • Gentle cleanse (or just rinse if you’re very dry)
  • Hydrating serum and moisturizer
  • Broad-spectrum SPF before you head out, even on mild East Bay days

PM: cleanse, moisturize, pause actives

  • Lukewarm cleanse, no scrubs
  • Moisturizer that doesn’t sting
  • Hold retinol and strong acids for 48 to 72 hours unless I told you otherwise

If you’re running errands around Bay Street after your appointment, keep a travel SPF in your bag. Reapply if you’re outside for more than a quick walk, especially near the waterfront where light bounces back at you.

If something feels “off, ” reach out. I’d rather hear from you early.

A little pinkness right after your service can be normal, especially if we did light extractions or your skin runs reactive. Mild dryness or a touch of flaking can also happen after a peel. What I don’t want is you sitting at home wondering if you did something wrong.

Message me if you notice: increasing redness after day one, swelling that’s getting worse (not better), persistent burning, or a new rash. And if you’re unsure about restarting retinol, acids, or booking another advanced service, ask first. A quick check-in protects your result and your comfort.
